Burlington Childcare Center Project Update – March 2022

A sincere thank you to Burlington United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women for their recent generous donation which will be used to purchase technology for the Secretary/Treasurer.

Burlington Childcare Center Project (BCCP) continues to work towards bringing a childcare center to Burlington. The community non-profit is in the process of finalizing its detailed business plan and choosing a location for the future childcare center. The business plan will help educate potential local community partners about the project and to apply for grant funding. The board is actively scouting out available land to build on and would ideally find a generous donor to contribute a parcel of vacant property.

A sincere thank you to Burlington United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women for their recent generous donation which will be used to purchase technology for the Secretary/Treasurer.

Burlington Childcare Center Project’s recently adopted mission statement is: “To plant foundational roots in the mind and body of each child through early childhood education and nurturing care, to provide the opportunity for each child to grow into the best version of his/herself and to be a welcoming, supportive resource for families and the community of Burlington.”

The Board of BCCP understands that while many citizens, especially parents, caregivers and employers, see the extreme need for increased childcare capacity in our community, many community members are skeptical that a community center is needed or that it could be successful.

As a board, we are eager to address concerns from the community and will address some of those looming concerns in the coming weeks. Additionally, please don’t hesitate to reach out with your unanswered questions. Current members are Candice Schaal, McKayla Reese, Bri Hill-Kastner, Valerie Boyd, Donna Tatkenhorst, Cody Pettibone, Jessica Schart, Tiffany Ramos, Bobbie Pack, Julie McNerney, Tyson Reents and Shannon Finch. Guests and new board members are invited to attend our monthly meetings. The Board can be reached at burlingtonchildcarecenter@gmail.com or on Facebook.
